Welcome to The Cancer Institute of New Jersey
The Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ)
was established in 1991 with a mission to put an end to the devastating
effects of cancer. And every day, we are a step closer to our goal. Our efforts have led to our inclusion as one of
only 39 National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the nation - the only one in New
Jersey.
As part of this elite group of centers nationwide, CINJ is a leader in laboratory, clinical,
prevention, and population research. CINJ delivers advanced comprehensive care to adults and children and conducts
cutting-edge cancer research. Top-notch scientists are at the forefront of developing methods to treat and prevent
cancer.
CINJ's physician-scientists engage in translational research, transforming
their laboratory discoveries into clinical practice -
quite literally bringing research to life. CINJ handles close to 80,000
patient visits each year with almost ten percent of those pediatric patients. CINJ is committed
to treating each and every patient with the utmost compassion
- providing treatment options that are as unique as the patients themselves.
The caring environment that has been CINJ's hallmark from the beginning is evident throughout its
facility, and while the square footage has recently tripled to 225,000 square feet, a special effort was made to
reconfigure the patient care setting to create the feel of a much smaller institution - from the intimate clinic
waiting rooms to the comfortable Resource and Learning Center, where patients and their families can review the
latest information on advanced therapies and new clinical trials. |
